Optical illusion
The editor can be used to create optical illusions. This is very often used for decoration. The principle here is that floors further down are higher than those above. The following picture shows what is meant:
Left picture: The circled area is further down but set higher.
Right picture: There you can see the preview. The circled area is offset by the height difference and visually above the other floors. You can use it to build roofs, for example, so that you can walk underneath them.
If the room is so empty, then you can very quickly see where there is an offset floor. But if there are tiles and other furniture "underneath" the area appears invisible.
There are ducks on the staggered floors so you can see where the area is, as it is now invisible due to the tiles that are on the "lower" floor. If you put furniture down on the staggered floors, it looks like you are walking underneath it. This allows furni to be on top of other furni that normally can't be on top of other furni such as roller or freeze tile. In reality they stand on the staggered floors like the ducks above in the gif.
The following photos show what else you can do with optical illusion:

The lower area is a floor level and the roof is also an extra floor level that is offset.
